Went for a ride. To the north. After one down-and-up along Bobbin Head Road in Ku-Ring-Gai Chase National Park – with most of the 'traffic' fellow cyclists – I decided to just keep going down and up, down and up... etc, until the call to get back home came. That's what I did. I collected plenty of footage along the way and I think it is a great showcase of a great place to ride a bike. This is the story of my ride from Saturday morning 13 April 2024. It's a destination I've been to many times but the ride from Sydney to West Head will never get old. When you have stunning weather, calm conditions on the road – as was the case in Sydney early on Easter Sunday – and a turnaround as beautiful as the lookout in the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, it's pretty much perfect. Cycling as it ought to be..! Beautiful, scenic, therapeutic, enjoyable and safe. This is the story of my ride from 31 March 2024. Taking a different direction and a new view as part of a little GoPro experiment. This is a ride to remember. It wasn't long, but it was absolutely enjoyable from start to finish – from Mill Cabin (by Trent Lowe and Niki Fisher, near Crackenback) along the Thredbo Valley Track to Bullock Flat... and back. This is a 'Story Of My Ride' with plenty of scenery, lots of conversation, some observations, and even a bit of a product overview. It was recorded on 19 March 2024 in the Snowy Mountains. Peaks Challenge Falls Creek returned in 2024 after a year off because of landslips on the route. Kerry Jonker signed up at the last minute, knowing she had never ridden as far as 235km in a day, or climbed over 4,000m on the bike. At the end of the mass participation / Gran Fondo ride, Kerry posted a time of 8 hours 19 minutes 6 seconds. I spoke to Kerry about the day and she tells the #StoryOfMyRide about #PeaksChallenge2024 It's a chance to consider her time – achieved, she tells me, by having a good time with “2000 friends” – and her power output and other lessons from her experiences on a day when the heat took a toll and the attrition rate of the popular ride was high. – Rob Note: 'Peaks' is a ride organised by the Bicycle Network. Beginning and ending at Falls Creek, it sends ±2,000 riders down from the start site to Mount Beauty and onwards to a stunning loop around Victoria's High Country, via Tawonga Gap, Mount Hotham, Omeo, and then back up the steep road at the 'Back Of Falls' for the finish.
