Friday favourites 8/05: team bikes chronology

It’s an exciting time here at RIDE HQ as we wrap up one chapter of the RIDE publication year and embark on another: putting to bed the final pages of Issue 68 (out in just a few short weeks…) and simultaneously preparing to launch headfirst into the production phase of this year’s edition of the Official Tour de France Guide. Get ready!

The Classics are over for another season and it’s time for the Giro d’Italia which starts in San Remo tomorrow. It’s Grand Tour season!

So, on a Friday, with just a few nagging pages left of RIDE #68 to check off and send, we can’t help but share our mounting excitement for what will unfold in the coming months.

The current issue of RIDE #67 (still on sale for a few more weeks) showcases the elite bikes that will carry the riders of this year’s pro peloton, and we thought it interesting to look back over the last few years at the progression of each team’s top-of-the-line steeds.

First up, we present Team FDJ’s ever-evolving Lapierre bikes…

  • So, @nathanpeterhaas wears the green jersey in stage 3. But only as caretaker.
Points classification is led by Caleb with Peter Sagan ranked second.
But, a relatively recent rule change means that world or national champions can opt out of wearing a classification jersey... if THEY are a caretaker (ie. not leader). Clear?
  • Good to see @calebewan back@in@the #TDU leader’s jersey.
Hear our interview with him on the TDU @soundcloud station.
