In November 2013, the first UK edition of RIDE Cycling Review was published. The second one RIDE UK #02 is about to be released. It contains coverage of the early-season races and includes the comprehensive review of team bikes conducted at the opening round of the WorldTour, the Santos Tour Down Under. This is where the image on the cover is from. It show Simon Gerrans in the leader’s jersey, caught in action by Tim Bardsley-Smith. The photo was taken on the Corkscrew climb of the South Australian race and it reflects the season well. The opening weeks offered a fantastic display of racing from the Australian champion. He took on rivals in sprints and on climbs. He had the support of a wonderful team in Buninyong and again at the Tour Down Under.
While RIDE Media is based in Sydney, there is a British partner now publishing a UK edition. The Australian edition of RIDE Cycling Review is up to edition #63 and we welcome #02 in Britain.
We’ve featured numerous Brits on the cover Australian edition over the years: Mark Cavendish, Bradley Wiggins, Chris Froome, they’ve all appeared on the front page of RIDE. This time around, however, in the Australian edition (RIDE #63) we have the cosmopolitan champion Jens Voigt. ‘Master. Class.’
This is a magazine about cycling. The themes are often familiar no matter where you read it.
Find out more about the second issue in Britain. In the meantime, have a look around ridemedia.com.au – you’ll find features on cycling from products to personalities, galleries and memories. Use the search engine to find things that may be buried deep in our archives. RIDE Media has been around since 1998 in Australia, and now there is a UK edition of the print magazine as well.
Of course, you can also find RIDE as an e-magazine on Zinio.
There are a lot of ways to see what we do. It’s about the bike. We make a magazine about cycling. And I hope you enjoy it when you read it.
