We know about the accident and it’s difficult to come to terms with the ramifications.

The Indian Pacific Wheel Race captured the imagination of many around the world and since Friday the cycling community has been in mourning.

Yesterday, crowds gathered for various rides around the world to remember Mike Hall.

“Sometimes you don’t need words.”

The rider who was ahead of Mike Hall in the race at the time of the accident, Kristof Allegaert, offered a few words to the crowd and placed flowers on the steps of the Opera House in memory of Mike Hall.

The rider who was ranked third in the Indian Pacific Wheel Race when it was cancelled, Sarah Hammond, was also present in Sydney. At the site where the race was meant to finish, she offered a few words to try and explain how she was feeling.

It’s not always possible to find the right thing to say, but she cherished the opportunity to at least share a moment with some other cyclists in Sydney.
