“Stage 1 of the Tour Down Under and the man who seems to be spending more time with his arms raised than an inquisitive five-year-old in class, Mr Simon Gerrans sneaks home first and grabs the Ochre jersey. On a day where Drapac and UNISA had men up the road for the majority of the stage, Mengler’s Hill didn’t thin the bunch like expected and it came down to a bunch sprint. Gerrans just pipping Greipel to take the win.”
Todd Norbury is the publisher of NonProCycling.com. He has written columns and commentary for RIDE Cycling Review, been on the panel of SBS podcasts, he admits to being “relatively new to cycling” and yet he can’t get enough of it. He rides, he writes, he takes photos, he asks questions, offers opinion, offers a smile and really enjoys discussion about the sport and all associated with it.
Todd is at the Tour Down Under as a visitor. A man among many who have come specifically for the race. He liked what he saw last year when he drove over from his home on the NSW coast. He decided to return in 2014. He brought his bike, his camera, his sunhat, his enthusiasm and his energy. He came to see a bike race. Here are some of his photos…
