Light. Stiff. Compliant. Aerodynamic. The new Scott Foil has undergone improvements to every aspect of this top line aero race bike. Not that it needed to, as the Scott Foil has already been ridden to victory in no less than 115 WorldTour races since its inception in 2010. This latest iteration is 89% more vertically compliant than the first edition and, for an aero bike, it is super light with the frame weighing a mere 945 grams – one of the lightest aero frames in the market. It has been five years since the first Foil was unveiled and this model is a stunning beast that is raring to be ridden.

The Scott reviewed in RIDE #69 is a Dura-Ace equivalent of the prize bike (which has Shimano Ultegra) but they share the same frame design. This is a complete redesign of the Foil and the product has impressed all in the office with its ride quality, high-end spec, and its considered build qualities. See Jack Lynch’s ‘Build in brief‘ for a quick overview of how the Scott test bike came together or visit the online extras page for the review to see 35 close-up images of the bike and hear (or read) the comments from riders during the testing process.
