Rebecca Wiasak is a two-time world champion who came to competitive cycling relatively late. The individual pursuit is the event she’s won in 2015 and 2016 – in Paris and London, respectively – but the big aim of 2016 was to make her Olympic debut in the team pursuit. She never got that opportunity.

After being cut from the shortlist only weeks prior to the Rio Games, Wiasak returned to Australia… and just kept on doing what she love: riding and racing her bike!

She continues to live the life of a cyclist and has hopes for the future even if her cycling career is a little uncertain.

There is one more month of a Cycling Australian scholarship for Wiasak… and it may or may not be renewed.

She is one of many awaiting the outcome of several reviews in Australian cycling.

As we make our way through the production of each issue, we conduct numerous interviews.

We sat down the Rebecca Wiasak on Friday 30 September 2016 and asked what she expects from the future…
