On the other side of the Pacific…

The season has begun and it doesn’t take long for the drama of cycling to unfold: crashes, sprints, unexpected wins, gallant solo efforts, new team colours…

The Tour Down Under has had it all so far in just a few stages and for this member of the RIDE team, 2012 has been the first edition of the race since 2009 that I have not been in Adelaide. After three consecutive years, January was a done deal. January was the Tour Down Under.

This year, however, is different. I now find myself in San Luis, Argentina, getting ready for a race that, in just its sixth edition, has attracted a star-studded line-up. On Monday five WorldTour teams will race alongside a comprehensive list of national teams from the region (from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador & Uruguay), as well as Continental Teams and Professional Continental Teams from around the world.

Yep. This was the first bike I saw. Seriously.
