EXCLUSIVE RIDE First in the world – new Trek Madone Seven Series

Being in based in Australia has many benefits – one of which is that the sun comes up here before most places in the world…  Today this allows RIDE to bring you exclusive first pictures of the new Trek Madone Seven Series whilst the rest of the world is still sleeping!

The new Madone Seven Series features an even lighter frameset than the current edition, and with a re-designed rear end (including room for wider tyres) this edition promises to be another step forward in the evolution of this famous bike.

Ordered through Trek’s Project One our compete bike arrived in time for us to start the RIDE review process for our next issue (out in August).

Featuring a complete Shimano Dura-Ace 9070 Di2 groupset (including dual-mount brakes), Bontrager Aura 5 wheelset and Bontrager saddle bar and stem, the photos of this ‘Captain America’ themed frame are just a teaser of the full review which will appear in RIDE Issue 61.

Here is what Trek have to say about the new Madone…

At a feather-bending 725 grams, the new Madone’s frame has been re-engineered to further push the legendary ride quality for which the Madone platform is known. The design retains industry-leading aerodynamics thanks to Kammtail Virtual Foil tube shaping on the frame and fork. KVF minimizes drag using a truncated airfoil shape. The virtual tail of the airfoil bends to respond to the angle of the most common crosswinds, significantly reducing drag in the real world, where it matters most. The fork’s ride-tuned sweep increases compliance for greater comfort, and unique molded carbon dropouts reduce weight and optimize the wheelbase. The brakes, integrated into the frame for minimum drag and maximum efficiency, save weight by eliminating the need for mounting plates and bolts. The new edition of the Madone chain stays have been redesigned to increase braking power and provide better overall ride feel.

To receive your copy of the next issue of RIDE subscribe either online or to the print edition of RIDE.

If you live in Australia and subscribe to the print edition before the end of July you will also go into the draw to win one a Madone or Domane Project One frame of your own!
