The “transitional” stages. Easy? Oh no, not at all. Far from it in fact. The day after the rest day is a strange one. And after the week that was, surely everyone in the peloton needed a little reprieve from racing. But, once they clicked back in, the riders set off at a furious pace from Besancon to Oyonnax.

While at the start, Rob Arnold chatted about cameras on bikes with one of Shimano’s product managers, the state of Tejay van Garderen and the future of Cadel Evans with Jim Ochowicz, how the Tinkoff-Saxo team coped with the loss of Alberto Contador with Nico Roche… he also snapped a few photos while he wandered around the team cars.

The interviews with Ochowicz and Roche will be posted shortly, in the meantime, here are is a little gallery of images from Besancon.
