It was quite a show. As Luke Roberts, a DS from the winning Sunweb team of Warren Barguil, said about short stages in the mountains: “I love ’em and I really looked forward to this one from the moment I saw this in the race. It’s always an interesting concept; you expect hard, fast racing the whole day and it had GC shake-ups… it has everything. It lived up to its promise.”

With the help of two Dutch photographers in France, here’s a look at some moments from stage 13.
