Jayco-Herald Sun Tour – gallery of the final stage

It has been a hectic beginning to the year for Jean-Pierre Ronco… from one race to the next, he was there documenting the action. Here is another gallery of his work from the ‘Summer of Cycling’.

Three team-mates on the podium: Esteban Chaves in first and two former champions in second and third overall, Cameron Meyer and Damien Howson. You could say it was a good week for Mitchelton-Scott. The Jayco-Herald Sun Tour has many close links to the team and its owner, Gerry Ryan.

The businessman has supported cycling for many years and the Victorian stage race is a showcase of the talent he backs with the GreenEdge team project, while his Mitchelton winery (and resort) also got some exposure during the event (again).

What this week does is provide an opportunity for the likes of Chaves, Meyer and Howson to hone their form before the set off for the next stanza of their season. And it allows Australian riders to test themselves against the guys who are going to be racing for the win in events like the Giro d’Italia later in the year. It’s a win-win scenario and some great racing came out of it.

We take a look back at the final stage, as captured by Jean-Pierre Ronco.
