Bike test – No.22 Reactor

In an era when there is so much carbon-fibre, it’s lovely to see a mix of frame materials. The No.22 Reactor combines carbon-fibre and titanium. Read the full review from #RIDE72

Review introduction

No. 22 is a Canadian-based company but its frames are built in Seratoga County, New York. Seratoga is something of a Mecca for titanium enthusiasts as it was home to Serotta custom frames. It built a sparkling reputation for nearly four decades until its closure in 2013, leaving a large contingent of experienced craftsmen unemployed.

The reality of quality mass-produced, well-marketed bikes hit Serotta hard and No. 22 capitalised by employing many of the company’s builders. This continued Seratoga’s contribution as home to some of the finest frames in the world but it also gave No. 22 instant credibility as a quality frame maker in a very competitive market.

Build Report introduction

Building metal bikes is always a pleasure. They do not only feel tougher than carbon-fibre frames, their internals make cable routing a piece of cake. Titanium frame builders are famous for their precision and creativity and the No. 22 perpetuates this reputation.
