Velothon Sunshine Coast – prize winner
In April, RIDE Media ran a promotion with Velothon Sunshine Coast which gave one reader a chance to win a cycling holiday to this year’s event (20-22 July). The winner was selected a little while ago…
What are you doing this July? Any plans to use the broadcast of the Tour de France as some cycling inspiration? Perhaps you’ll want to get out for a ride and stretch the legs a little… but, depending on where you are at that time of the year, it can be cold – so some additional motivation never hurts.
And that’s where Velothon Sunshine Coast fits in.
After watching the Tour for a fortnight you’ll be raring to go by the time this multi-day granfondo style event is on.
With fantastic riding terrain, the prospect of typically beautiful Queensland weather, managed roads, and hundreds of likeminded cyclists all riding the challenging courses on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday, it’s an ideal long weekend away just when you need it.
To enter the prize offered by Velothon, readers had to simply state why they were looking forward to the 2018 ride (in 25 words or less). The prize draw took place a little while ago and Russell Church from Victoria is the winner. He explained the reason for his interest as follows:
“Oiling up the legs on the Sunshine Coast is more enticing than covering them up with leg warmers in Melbourne!”
Bingo. Give the man a flight to the Sunshine Coast, a dinner voucher for one of the nights of his stay, and free entry to Velothon! Russell will be one of many who will take on the second edition of the ride on the Sunshine Coast.
