Adventure Entertainment Enters Agreement to Acquire Ride Media and Publish the Official Tour de France Official Guide in Australia.
Sydney, Australia — Adventure Entertainment has entered into an agreement to acquire the Ride Media brand and assets, including the rights to publish the Australian edition of the Official Tour de France Guide.
The acquisition brings together two of Australia’s most recognised cycling media brands, with Ride Media joining Adventure Entertainment’s portfolio alongside Australian Mountain Bike (AMB). The move positions Adventure Entertainment as the only media company in Australia serving both the road cycling and mountain bike communities, creating a unified multi-media platform for cycling audiences, brands and advertisers.
Adventure Entertainment plans to relaunch Ride Media’s digital cycling platforms, while continuing publication of the Official Tour de France Guide in Australia.
Rob Arnold, founder of Ride Media and one of Australia’s most respected cycling journalists, will remain closely involved as editor of the Australian Tour de France Official Guide and the Ride digital publishing platform.
Adventure Entertainment CEO Toby Ryston-Pratt said the acquisition represents a natural expansion of the company’s cycling media footprint.
“We’ve built a strong presence in mountain biking through AMB, and Ride Media has long been one of the most respected brands in Australian road cycling with 28 years of pedigree. Bringing these brands together allows us to support the full breadth of the cycling industry – from road to trail – while creating new opportunities for advertisers and partners.” – Toby Ryston-Pratt
Rob Arnold said the partnership will help breathe new life into Ride Media while ensuring the Official Tour de France Guide, published by Ride Media since 2003, continues to reach Australian cycling fans as a premium print publication.
“Ride has always been about telling great cycling stories and celebrating the sport. Adventure Entertainment has a proven track record of building strong niche media brands, and I’m excited to work with Toby and the team to refresh Ride’s digital presence while continuing to produce the Tour de France Guide for Australian fans.” – Rob Arnold
Adventure Entertainment plans to integrate Ride Media with its broader media and advertising network, providing cycling brands with new cross-platform opportunities spanning road cycling, mountain biking, digital publishing and events.
