And just like that, Katrin Garfoot gets back to her winning ways. She missed out on victory in the road race at the nationals, but in stage two of the next stage race she was back on the top of the podium.

Jean-Pierre Ronco continues to follow the peloton through the so-called ‘Summer of Cycling’. The heat that was a feature of stage one of the 2018 Santos Women’s Tour has faded to mild conditions in South Australia… and rain became a talking point of the stage to Mengler’s Hill.

UniSA has been a team name that’s received plenty of commentary in the past week and, on day two of the women’s tour, the sponsor earns headlines thanks to the efforts of Garfoot.

The overnight leader, Nettie Edmondson dropped from first to 24th on GC after the uphill finish of stage two.

Again, the stage winner took the ochre leader’s jersey and Garfoot has a lead of four seconds over Lucy Kennedy and 14 over Amanda Spratt.

Points classification is led by Caleb with Peter Sagan ranked second.
But, a relatively recent rule change means that world or national champions can opt out of wearing a classification jersey... if THEY are a caretaker (ie. not leader). Clear?
  • Good to see @calebewan back@in@the #TDU leader’s jersey.
Hear our interview with him on the TDU @soundcloud station.
