Late in 2013 RIDE Media began a partnership with a UK publisher which had signed a licensing agreement to publish a UK edition of RIDE Cycling Review. The first edition was launched late that year and featured Mark Cavendish on the cover.

Cycling is prospering in Great Britain and it seemed an ideal time to present a British edition of a magazine that has been published in Australia since July 1998.

Eight issues of RIDE Cycling Review UK were published and we are very proud of the product. Alas, it will not continue in 2016.

RIDE UK #08 was the final instalment as part of the collaboration with Pro Sport Publishing Limited.

“It is with great regret that we have had to discontinue publishing the UK version of RIDE Cycling Review,” said Matthew Evans from Pro Sport Publishing.

“We’ve been very happy and proud to have been part of such a fantastic magazine this past couple of years and still truly believe it is the market leader – whether in Australia or the UK. We would like to thank all those who supported us.”

“I have always considered RIDE Cycling Review to be an international magazine,” said the publishing editor of RIDE Media, Rob Arnold. “The content is from the cycling world and although there has at times been an Australian slant, it seemed logical to test the market in the UK.

“Cycling is thriving in Britain and it’s most encouraging to see the progression of the sport as well as other aspects of what the bike has to offer.”

RIDE #71 (Australian edition) goes on sale from 21 March 2016.

RIDE Media will continue to create international content and publish regular reports online.

“Our core income comes from a printed product,” continued Arnold, “and we will continue to concentrate on creating magazines that inspire people to ride.”

The 71st edition of RIDE Cycling Review – the Australian edition – goes on sale this week; it features two British riders on the cover, Cavendish (again) and Sir Bradley Wiggins (again).

“We’d like to thank everyone who bought the UK edition and offered encouragement over the years.” concluded Arnold. “I would like to thank Matthew Evans and Simon Gales for their cooperation and enthusiasm for the project during their years of publishing RIDE’s UK edition.

“We look forward to continuing to present a quarterly printed review of cycling as well as our regular online updates on – it’s what we’ve been doing for over 18 years. It’s been quite a ride… and yet there’s always more to say about cycling.”
