We continue our look back at #RoadNats22 through the lens of Jean-Pierre Ronco, a photographer who has been a regular at the Australian road cycling national championships for nine years.

This time, the gallery is of the elite (and under-23) women’s road race.

The final Sunday of the road cycling national championships boasted two road races but three championships were awarded, with the elite and under-23 women combining to contest the first event on the last day. The images below tell much of the story and so too the results – but there was, of course, live TV coverage of the action on SBS.

In the end, an impressive ride by Nicole Frain became the headline act when she held off the recently crowned TT national champion, Grace Brown, and under-23 winner Alyssa Polites in the race to the finish line.

Relive the race and enjoy the photography of Jean-Pierre Ronco – scroll through the images below.
